Ike went on his first long car ride (8.5 hours), hotel stay (2 nights) and elevator this weekend for his Auntie's baby shower. He surprised his momma (Happy Mother's Day to me!) with how well he did. In the jeep he stayed in the back and played with his toys.  In the hotel he was quiet and slept on the tile all night. And he hopped right in the elevator.  Here he is on his first weekend getaway-Melbourne Beach, Florida.

Ike had his last puppy shot today. He is 18 weeks old. His baby teeth are starting to fall out and he is shedding his puppy coat like crazy. He is a tween now!  He does so well at the vet, just sits on that big scale/table wagging his tail waiting for his treat. They love him up there!  The vet did notice the big bald spot on his head compliments of his sister. There is nothing like the play time between these two! He was 73 lbs today.

Ike is 4 months old today!

Both the kids really enjoying the family visit this weekend. They played hard and showed out for Auntie! Kathy is 34, Little Man is 24 weeks, Ike is 16 weeks and The Q is 6.5 years.

My water dog really loves water!  The kids are excited about auntie/uncle and Boaz grandparents coming tomorrow to spend the night! And to see Auntie's BUMP!

For our weekend adventure we went to Dauphin Island on the other side of Mobile. It is one of the last dog beaches around.  I have never seen a beach quite like this one. There were lots of dunes and sea oats and it was really wide.  The kiddos had a ball. Ike went in the water for the first time on his own and really swam. Once it is warmer and we can all get in, I think he will love it! Susie even got in on her own up to her belly. They really enjoyed playing in the sand. Ike starting digging, who knows why, and was shoveling the sand up over me! Shane also decided that since Newfoundlands are considered working dogs that Ike should have a backpack and carry all of our stuff so he doesn't have to!

 

Ike had a great vet appointment this morning. The vet had an emergency so we had to wait in the room quite a while. He laid on the exam table like a good boy.
