We visited with Ike this morning. He came running out of his kennel and jumped up on us. He was very excited to see us, but also to get out of the pen and sniff at all his new friends. We went outside and he stayed very close to me, getting rubbed on but then walking off to do his Ike stuff, you know, eating rocks and such : ) but always coming back to see his momma. He would also go up to his trainer to, so Shane and I were pleased to know he does like him. The trainer said he can tell he is an intelligent dog - shocking!!!!  He was absolutely disgusting and smelly and trainer said he was shedding like crazy.  Hooray for us! They only do that twice a year, how fabulous would it be for my house's sake if it is now!! Next visit we are going to actually do a trial run with him on his lead. Today was just visiting/free time.  He said Ike has been the talk of the town and folks have had their pictures taken with him. The best part was at the end the trainer wanted him to get back in his pen and Ike did his usual.....pretending not to hear.....some things never change  :)  We love and miss our pal but can tell he is doing fine there so we are more at peace. His sister was very interested in his smell on our sweatshirts when we got home. She kept waiting for him to run around the corner and pounce on her!

Ike's trainer sent a photo and said that he was doing well at school. It was nice to get to see his smiling face. Can't wait to see it in person on Wednesday!  For our 1 year anniversary, we took off to Destin and took Sue. She had a wonderful time being the center of attention. Her dad's gift was a personalized sweatshirt, which those 2 were quite proud of!   The 1 year old cake top was even nasty to her, that is saying alot!

Everyday Ike plows Susie Q over and over and over. I am always worried she will get hurt. Well he isn't even here and we had to run to the vet! She was walking in the grass, completely normal, then started screaming and holding her front foot up. I have never seen her so upset. It was like a horrible cramp but kept on so we flew to her doctor worried she had sprained it. At home she wouldn't walk on it and was licking it and screaming. By the time we got up there, it was swelling and very warm. Come to find out, she had 3 stingers in there. She yelled when he pulled them out. She was given a shot and meds. Poor princess puppy!

Today was drop off day for school.  There are about 30 other dogs in classes currently in his kennel but only 4 others in basic obedience.  All are labs or goldens.  Ike was excited when we were just outside but when we went in the kennel with all the yappy dogs he got nervous. Then he was put in his kennel, about the size of a closest, and he was pitiful. Kept jumping up on the door and pawing for me to let him out. Horrible day.....
